Logistics provider Blue Dart Express has introduced a new international B2C parcel shipping service targeting Indian e-commerce firms and SMEs. The service initially launches in the US, with plans to expand to the UK, EU, Canada, and Australia.

NEW DELHI — Blue Dart Express announced on Monday the launch of a new B2C cross-border parcel shipping service designed to assist Indian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and e-commerce firms in reaching international buyers.

The company stated that the new service will initially begin with the United States. Following the initial rollout, Blue Dart plans to progressively extend the offering to other key international markets, including the United Kingdom, countries within the European Union, Canada, and Australia.

According to the company, the service is built to support eligible business-to-consumer parcels weighing anywhere from 50 grams up to 11 kilograms across multiple product categories.

Addressing the market opportunity, Dipanjan Banerjee, Chief Commercial Officer at Blue Dart, noted that India’s B2C e-commerce exports currently sit at an estimated $2 billion, highlighting the potential for local businesses to tap into overseas customer bases.

"For many sellers, the choice has been between premium-priced express delivery and lower-cost postal shipping," Banerjee said, adding that the newly introduced International Parcel Connect service is designed to bridge the gap between these two existing options.

The move comes as logistics providers continue to adjust their service portfolios to accommodate the growing demand for cross-border trade solutions among Indian merchants and smaller retail enterprises looking to scale their global reach.

"The launch of Blue Dart's cross-border parcel service addresses a critical operational hurdle for Indian SMEs and e-commerce exporters. By introducing a middle-ground option between expensive express shipping and slow postal services, they are enabling smaller players to compete more effectively in global markets like the US, UK, and Europe. As India's B2C e-commerce exports continue to grow toward the estimated $2 billion mark, reliable and cost-effective logistics infrastructure will remain a fundamental pillar for scaling domestic businesses internationally." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
