NEW DELHI — Defense electronics firm Apollo Micro Systems has delivered a record financial performance for the second quarter of fiscal year 2027, according to recent brokerage updates. The company reported consolidated revenue, EBITDA, and PAT growth of 72 percent, 88 percent, and 54 percent year-on-year, respectively.
Despite the strong financial results, the company's consolidated order book increased only marginally to ₹1,765 crore. Consequently, the conversion of its robust order pipeline into confirmed orders remains a key factor for sustaining near-term growth.
Management has identified the MIGM programme as a crucial near-term trigger. User trials for the programme have been completed, and management is targeting a formal order by February 2027. As the sole supplier of key electronic subsystems and sensors for the project, Apollo stands to gain significant upside potential upon the award of the contract. Additional opportunities across defense projects such as Pinaka, QRSAM, and heavyweight torpedoes are expected to support order inflows in the upcoming quarters.
Furthermore, company leadership has indicated that the order book could surpass ₹2,000 crore by the end of FY27, excluding the MIGM programme. Management has also reiterated its annual revenue growth guidance of 35 to 45 percent. However, market observers note that achieving this guidance will depend on the timely conversion of the identified pipeline and a smooth operational ramp-up of the company's expanded manufacturing capacity.
Analysts remain constructive on Apollo's broader strategic transition toward becoming an integrated weapons-system player. The proposed acquisition of Premier Explosives, alongside Shauryastra’s focus on complete weapon systems, is expected to provide long-term growth potential and broaden the company's presence across the missile value chain.
Driven by these developments, brokerages have revised their stock rating from 'Reduce' to 'Buy' and raised the target price to ₹525, valuing the stock at 50 times the average of estimated FY28E and FY29E EPS.
"Apollo Micro Systems is demonstrating strong operational capabilities, reflected in its impressive Q2FY27 financial performance. However, for companies operating in the defense sector, maintaining high revenue growth relies heavily on translating a robust order pipeline into confirmed contracts. The upcoming milestones, particularly the MIGM programme and strategic acquisitions like Premier Explosives, will be critical in determining whether the company can successfully transition into an integrated weapons-system player and sustain its projected growth trajectory." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
