The CDSL Investor Protection Fund (CDSL IPF) has launched a multilingual animated film in collaboration with Amar Chitra Katha to promote thoughtful financial planning and informed investing among the public.
According to an official statement released on Monday, the initiative is designed to simplify essential investment concepts through engaging storytelling. By making these concepts accessible and relatable, the project targets investors across diverse geographies and demographics.
The animated film, titled 'The Garden of Prosperity', features classic characters Akbar and Birbal. The storyline follows the historical figures as they assist a newly married couple in understanding how to invest their wedding gifts wisely.
Speaking on the launch, Sudhish Pillai, Head of the CDSL IPF Secretariat, stated that financial education is most effective when complex ideas are communicated through simple and relatable narratives.
"By combining the timeless wisdom of Akbar and Birbal with practical lessons on financial planning, this multilingual film makes investing easier to understand for people across age groups and geographies," Pillai said in the statement.
The collaboration leverages Amar Chitra Katha's expertise in narrative-driven content to bridge the gap between financial literacy and general audiences, utilizing familiar cultural touchstones to convey modern financial concepts.
"Using familiar cultural narratives like Akbar and Birbal to explain financial planning is a practical approach to improving financial literacy in India. By breaking down investment concepts into engaging stories, CDSL IPF and Amar Chitra Katha are addressing a crucial gap in making financial education accessible across diverse demographics and age groups." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
