Chandigarh University Uttar Pradesh Signs MoU with University of California, Irvine to Expand Global Academic Collaboration

Chandigarh University Uttar Pradesh has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the University of California, Irvine, to enhance international academic and research collaboration. The partnership will focus on student mobility, faculty exchanges, and joint research initiatives between the two institutions.

LUCKNOW, INDIA — Chandigarh University Uttar Pradesh has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of California, Irvine, USA, ranked 252nd in the QS World University Rankings. The partnership aims to build long-term collaboration in education, research, and innovation to expand global opportunities for students, faculty members, and researchers.

Under the terms of the agreement, both institutions will collaborate on a wide range of academic activities. These include faculty and researcher exchanges, student mobility programs, joint research projects, research publications, academic conferences, workshops, and short-term academic programmes. Joint initiatives will be implemented based on mutual consent and available resources.

The agreement was signed by Professor Dr. Rajan Sharma on behalf of Chandigarh University Uttar Pradesh and Professor Faryar Jabbari, Interim Dean of the Samueli School of Engineering, representing the University of California, Irvine.

Jai Inder Singh Sandhu, Managing Director of Chandigarh University Uttar Pradesh, stated that the partnership is a significant milestone for the institution. He noted that the collaboration is designed to provide students and researchers with global exposure, world-class learning opportunities, and avenues for international cooperation.

Prof. Dr. Rajan Sharma, Executive Director of the Office of International Affairs, added that the collaboration supports the university's objective to connect its academic community with the global education ecosystem, fostering knowledge exchange and professional capability development.

The agreement aligns with Chandigarh University Uttar Pradesh's ongoing focus on internationalization and research-driven education. The campus, located in Lucknow, integrates an AI-augmented academic model and builds upon the legacy of Chandigarh University, Punjab.
