The Department of Telecommunications has instructed telecom operators to deny new SIM card issuances to subscribers who already hold nine mobile connections. Additionally, any mobile connections activated beyond the prescribed limit will face immediate suspension pending resolution.
The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has issued a directive instructing telecom service providers to deny new SIM card issuances to subscribers who currently hold nine mobile connections.
According to the official circular, telecom operators have been asked to streamline this process with the DIP before November 30.
The directive further outlines the protocol for handling connections that exceed the permitted limits. As per the terms and conditions of the Customer Application Form (CAF), any mobile connection activated beyond the prescribed limit on a given day will be immediately suspended.
The suspension will remain in effect until the issue regarding the crossing of the permitted limit for mobile connections is officially resolved.
