Jio Platforms officially made its stock market debut on Wednesday, recording a strong opening on both major domestic exchanges, the BSE and the NSE. The company listed at ₹1,358 per share, representing a 21.36 per cent premium over its established IPO price of ₹1,119.
During early trading hours, the stock touched an intraday high of ₹1,374.50. Market activity remained robust immediately following the listing, with the stock settling around ₹1,357.20 by 10:15 AM.
Investor demand appeared strong during the early part of the trading session. Market data indicated that buy orders accounted for 94.5 per cent of the total order flow for the stock during this period.
"A listing premium of over 21 per cent combined with high buy order volumes indicates strong initial market sentiment for Jio Platforms. Public offerings of this scale reflect deep investor appetite in the domestic capital markets, particularly for established technology and telecom-backed infrastructure players. Sustainable performance post-listing will ultimately depend on consistent financial execution and market dynamics over the coming quarters." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
