MUMBAI — Infrastructure Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) major KEC International announced on Saturday that it has secured new orders valued at ₹2,872 crore. The contracts were awarded by the Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL).
According to the company, the orders are for the design, supply, and installation of 765 kV transmission lines. These projects are associated with the evacuation of 8.5 gigawatts (GW) of renewable energy from Gujarat.
Vimal Kejriwal, Managing Director and CEO of KEC International, stated that the latest contracts include the largest-ever order secured by the company's India Transmission and Distribution (T&D) business. He noted that these projects have substantially expanded the domestic T&D order book.
With these fresh wins, KEC International's year-to-date order intake has crossed the ₹13,500 crore mark. The company reported that out of this total, ₹9,500 crore stems specifically from its T&D business segment. KEC International operates as part of the RPG Group.
"Securing large-scale infrastructure contracts of this magnitude reflects strong execution capabilities in the power transmission sector. The linkage with renewable energy evacuation in Gujarat highlights how traditional engineering firms are successfully aligning their order pipelines with the nation's broader clean energy transition, providing steady revenue visibility and sustained growth for established players." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
