THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Thiruvananthapuram International Airport is set to handle 644 weekly air traffic movements under its upcoming winter schedule for 2026-27. This marks an increase from the 620 movements recorded during the previous summer schedule, according to an official statement.
The winter schedule will be effective from October 25, 2026, through March 27, 2027. During this period, weekly domestic air traffic movements are slated to increase by 12 percent, moving from 294 to 328 operations per week.
Along with the domestic growth, the airport will manage 316 international air traffic movements per week. The new schedule also introduces Riyadh as a newly added destination, alongside enhanced connectivity to key domestic and international hubs including Bahrain, Kuwait, Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru.
A spokesperson for TRV (Kerala) International Airport Limited stated that the updated schedule reflects the airport's growing importance as a gateway to Keralam and the wider region.
"The expansion of flight schedules and the addition of new routes like Riyadh highlight the steady growth of regional infrastructure and connectivity in southern India. For businesses, improved air traffic movements and enhanced domestic and international links directly translate to better trade mobility, easier executive travel, and stronger commercial ties across major economic hubs." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
