NEW DELHI: Fintech firm PhonePe announced on Thursday that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).
Under the agreement, PhonePe will integrate its enterprise data intelligence platform, PulsePro, into the PM GatiShakti framework. The integration will feature metrics incorporated into the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan portal, which is managed in collaboration with the Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geo-informatics (BISAG-N).
The PulsePro platform transforms aggregated and anonymised transaction data into market signals. This enables organisations to access real-world activity trends across various geographies and categories, supporting data-based decision-making.
According to the company, the collaboration aims to support national infrastructure planning, economic analysis, and holistic urban and rural development by providing granular, hyperlocal insights.
Commenting on the development, MeitY Secretary S Krishnan said that data-driven intelligence can play an important role in enabling more informed planning and decision-making. He added that the granular and hyperlocal insights available through PhonePe PulsePro can complement existing datasets and provide additional visibility into emerging trends across markets and geographies.
"The integration of private sector transaction data into public infrastructure planning frameworks represents a practical shift toward data-driven governance. By leveraging hyperlocal insights from platforms like PhonePe's PulsePro, government bodies can better understand real-world economic activity trends. This collaboration highlights how public-private cooperation can enhance national master planning and support more informed decision-making for urban and rural development." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
