Housing finance company Sundaram Home Finance has announced plans to treble its disbursements in the emerging business (EB) segment in Andhra Pradesh this year. The firm, which recorded ₹50 crore in disbursements within this segment in the state during FY26, has set a target of ₹150 crore for the current year.
As part of this expansion strategy, the company is looking to double its branch network in Andhra Pradesh from the current 10 to 20 branches. The expansion will primarily focus on smaller towns across the state, with the opening of a new branch in Chittoor marking the first step of this rollout.
To support this growth, Sundaram Home Finance plans to hire around 60 people for the EB segment in Andhra Pradesh. D Lakshminarayanan, Managing Director of Sundaram Home Finance, stated that the company has witnessed consistent growth across all its branches in the state during the first year of the EB launch.
Mr. Lakshminarayanan noted that the Andhra Pradesh government's focus on industrial development in smaller towns is expected to generate fresh employment, which in turn will drive housing growth in the region.
Sundaram Home Finance operates over 100 branches in the EB segment across South India. As a wholly owned subsidiary of Sundaram Finance, the company offers a range of financial products, including home loans, plot loans, home improvement and extension loans, affordable housing finance, loans against property, and small-ticket loans directed at entrepreneurs.
"Sundaram Home Finance's targeted expansion into smaller towns in Andhra Pradesh highlights a strategic focus on tapping into tier-2 and tier-3 markets driven by industrial development and local employment generation. By doubling its branch footprint and scaling up disbursements in the emerging business segment, the company is effectively aligning its regional growth strategy with the rising demand for housing and financial services outside major metropolitan hubs." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
