Tata Motors Ltd announced a 49 percent increase in total commercial vehicle sales for August, reaching 44,411 units compared to the same month last year. The growth was driven by gains in both domestic sales and international business volumes.

Tata Motors Ltd on Tuesday reported a 49 per cent growth in total commercial vehicle sales for the month of August. The company recorded total sales of 44,411 units, compared to 29,863 units sold in the corresponding month of the previous year.

According to the statement released by the company, domestic commercial vehicle sales saw a 33 per cent increase. Domestic sales reached 36,619 units last month, up from 27,481 units in August of the previous year.

The company also noted significant growth in its international business volumes. International shipments stood at 7,792 units in August, marking a 227 per cent year-on-year growth compared to the 2,382 units recorded in the year-ago month.

"The significant rise in commercial vehicle sales reported by Tata Motors indicates a strong recovery and steady demand across both domestic and international markets. A 227 percent surge in international business volumes particularly highlights successful global outreach and expanding market presence. For the broader business and industrial ecosystem, robust commercial vehicle sales often serve as a reliable indicator of improving economic activity in logistics, transportation, and supply chain sectors." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
