Tata Projects has announced that it has secured an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract from Gujarat State Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd (GSFC). The order involves the development of an integrated phosphoric acid-sulphuric acid complex located at Sikka in Jamnagar, Gujarat.
This contract marks a notable development in Tata Projects' expansion into specialised process industries. The company stated that the project reinforces its position as an EPC partner for complex industrial infrastructure.
The scope of the project includes the establishment of a 600 metric tonnes per day (MTPD) phosphoric acid plant and an 1,800 metric tonnes per day (MTPD) sulphuric acid plant. In addition to the manufacturing facilities, the project entails the setup of associated utilities and offsite infrastructure.
Rajiv Menon, President & Chief Growth & Strategy Officer at Tata Projects, commented on the development. He stated that as the company expands its presence in chemicals, fertilisers, and other specialised process industries, its priority remains building a high-quality, diversified order book anchored in technical expertise, execution credibility, and customer partnerships.
Tata Projects has a presence across various sectors, delivering sustainable solutions for large urban and industrial infrastructure projects, refineries, and petrochemical plants. Its portfolio includes ready-to-deploy solutions for semiconductor facilities, giga factories, data centres, green fuels, roads, bridges, rail and metro systems, commercial buildings, airports, power generation, transmission and distribution systems, chemical process plants, water and waste management, and mining and metal purification systems.
"Securing large-scale EPC contracts in specialized sectors like chemicals and fertilizers demonstrates strong execution credibility and technical capability. For heavy infrastructure and engineering firms, diversifying into specialized process industries is a strategic way to build a resilient order book. As industrial demand grows, companies that maintain high standards in project delivery will continue to secure valuable partnerships in core industrial sectors." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
