Versuni India Home Solutions has reported double-digit growth in its domestic business, driven by a focus on localization and manufacturing expansion. The company has doubled its Ahmedabad facility capacity and expanded its direct distribution for fast-growing categories like air-fryers.

NEW DELHI — Versuni India Home Solutions Ltd has emerged as a key growth engine for its global parent company, registering continuous double-digit growth over the past two years. The company, which manages the Philips domestic appliances business and Preethi Kitchen appliances, continues to see strong demand across the Indian market.

According to Gulbahar Taurani, Managing Director and CEO of Versuni India Home Solutions, the company expects to maintain its double-digit growth trajectory this year. Growth is particularly strong in emerging categories such as air-fryers, garment steamers, coffee machines, and air purifiers, which are outpacing mature categories like mixer grinders.

A core part of the company's strategy involves deep localization. Taurani noted that approximately 90 to 95 percent of the Indian portfolio is currently localized, allowing the firm to tailor product development specifically to the requirements of Indian households.

To support this demand, Versuni India has actively expanded its manufacturing footprint. The company operates production facilities in Chennai and Ahmedabad. In March, manufacturing capacity at the Ahmedabad plant was doubled. Simultaneously, operations at the Chennai facility were expanded to include the localization of air-fryer motors.

The company is also scaling up its market reach, particularly for high-growth segments. Versuni is expanding direct distribution for its air-fryer portfolio to reach nearly 20,000 outlets, responding to consumer demand for convenience and diverse cooking functionalities across various price points.

In addition to traditional retail and direct distribution, digital sales channels are playing a prominent role. E-commerce and quick-commerce platforms now cumulatively account for one-fourth of the company's total sales.

Addressing external economic factors, Taurani stated that the company has managed rising input costs driven by geopolitical challenges through a combination of selective price increases and absorbing part of the financial impact directly.

"Versuni India's approach highlights the importance of deep localization and supply chain resilience in the consumer appliance sector. By scaling domestic manufacturing capabilities in facilities like Ahmedabad and Chennai while simultaneously aligning with high-growth digital and quick-commerce channels, the company has positioned itself effectively to capture evolving consumer demand. Balancing input costs through targeted pricing and operational efficiency remains a critical lesson for businesses operating in competitive consumer markets." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
