Zoho Launches Catalyst 3.0 to Connect AI Coding Tools with Cloud Deployment

SaaS major Zoho has announced the launch of Catalyst 3.0, its latest cloud development platform aimed at connecting AI-assisted coding with production-grade cloud infrastructure. The platform enables developers to move applications directly from Agentic AI coding assistants, such as Claude Code or Codex, to live environments without leaving their coding workspace.

While AI tools have accelerated the software writing process, deploying applications to the real world remains a complex and time-consuming challenge. Anand Nergunam, Global Vice President of Revenue Growth at Zoho, noted that the latest iteration of Catalyst is specifically designed to address this operational gap.

According to Nergunam, the full cycle of software development has traditionally remained fragmented, often requiring months of work after initial coding to bring an application live. With Catalyst 3.0, Zoho aims to streamline this process, allowing a single developer to build and scale an application equipped with necessary cloud services—such as databases, storage, and security—in a matter of weeks.

Since its initial launch in 2021, Catalyst has experienced more than a tenfold growth in its customer base. Building on this momentum, Zoho is positioning Catalyst not only as a developer utility but also as a domestic alternative to major global cloud service providers.

By leveraging its own data centre infrastructure alongside integrated development, database, and storage services, Zoho intends to offer a competitive cost structure compared to traditional hyperscalers like AWS and Azure. Nergunam emphasized that owning, managing, and optimising its own infrastructure allows the company to pass significant cost advantages on to developers.

In addition to enterprise and professional use, Zoho is rolling out a free student programme designed to provide next-generation developers with access to the platform. This initiative allows students to learn, experiment, and deploy applications using modern infrastructure tools as part of the company's broader efforts to support future talent.
