Vineet Mittal, Chairman of Avaada Group, emphasized the importance of events like the Bharat Renewable Energy Summit & Expo (BRESE) 2026 in expanding India's clean energy infrastructure. He highlighted the need for domestic manufacturing across the value chain, deeper international cooperation, and turning opportunities into bankable projects.

Events such as the Bharat Renewable Energy Summit & Expo (BRESE) 2026 provide significant opportunities for India to expand its renewable energy sector, according to Vineet Mittal, Chairman of Avaada Group. Mittal noted that such platforms offer crucial investment opportunities to build scale, foster innovation to make clean energy dependable, and drive international cooperation to ensure global accessibility.

Discussing the changing landscape of energy security, Mittal pointed out that while oil and gas reserves historically dictated energy security, future decades will depend on the ability to harness, store, and manage energy from nature. He stated that India possesses abundant sunshine, wind resources, a large domestic market, and the entrepreneurial capacity to build scalable solutions.

Addressing the strengthening of India's clean energy ecosystem, Mittal emphasized that India must move beyond installing solar panels to mastering the underlying technologies. He noted that the country's ambition should span the entire value chain, including polysilicon, ingots, wafers, high-efficiency cells, modules, glass, batteries, power electronics, and intelligent energy management systems. He highlighted that Avaada invests in advanced technologies such as TOPCon solar cells, integrated solar manufacturing, battery storage, and green fuels to connect generation, manufacturing, and intelligent solutions.

On the role of the private sector within the International Solar Alliance (ISA), Mittal stated that energy must serve as an instrument of human dignity. He stressed that the private sector should help create complete solutions that combine solar generation, battery storage, affordable financing, local entrepreneurship, and long-term maintenance, specifically tailored to the needs of the Global South.

Mittal also referenced domestic initiatives like PM-KUSUM and PM Surya Ghar, noting how public policy can engage ordinary citizens in the energy economy. He suggested that future developments could involve homes equipped with rooftop solar, hybrid inverters, and battery storage to support the grid through virtual power plants, pointing to Avaada's HALO integrated battery and hybrid inverter solution as an example.

Regarding financing, Mittal stated that while global capital is available for well-structured investments, investors require predictability and confidence. He emphasized that the primary challenge is converting opportunities into bankable projects quickly by deepening partnerships with sovereign wealth funds, pension funds, development finance institutions, and global technology leaders, ensuring commitments translate into operational infrastructure.

"The expansion of India's renewable energy sector depends heavily on our ability to transition from mere installation to complete domestic manufacturing across the value chain. As highlighted by industry leaders, events like the Bharat Renewable Energy Summit serve as vital catalysts for attracting global capital and building bankable projects. For businesses and entrepreneurs operating in the clean tech space, the focus must remain on reliability, local innovation, and scalable storage solutions to meet growing energy demands sustainably." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
