M. K. Sons Fine Jewels Limited made its market debut on the stock exchanges following its initial public offering. The public issue, valued at ₹275.40 crore at the upper end of the price band, received an overall subscription of 5.09 times.

The company's shares listed at a 5.9 percent premium on the BSE at ₹171.60, compared to the IPO issue price of ₹162 per share. On the NSE, the stock debuted at ₹171, marking a 5.5 percent premium over the issue price. Following the listing, the stock subsequently dipped to ₹162.

Ahead of the public issue, the jewellery retailer raised ₹82.62 crore from anchor investors. This was executed by allotting 51 lakh equity shares to nine investors at a price of ₹162 apiece.

The IPO was fixed within a price band of ₹153 to ₹162 per share. The issue comprised a fresh issue of up to 1.36 crore equity shares and an offer for sale (OFS) of up to 34 lakh equity shares by promoter Ramchand Murlidhar Raimalani.

M. K. Sons Fine Jewels Limited operates through a showroom network across Mumbai and Ahmedabad, engaging in the retail sale of gold, diamond, and CZ jewellery. Its product portfolio features items such as rings, necklaces, bangles, earrings, bracelets, Mangalsutras, solitaires, bridal jewellery, and customised pieces across multiple collections.

According to the company's public disclosures, proceeds from the fresh issue are earmarked for specific corporate objectives. These include setting up a new showroom in Maharashtra and expanding an existing showroom in Gujarat. Additionally, a portion of the funds will be directed toward the repayment or prepayment of certain borrowings, alongside meeting general corporate purposes.

"The modest listing premium and subsequent price movement of M K Sons Fine Jewels reflect current market sentiment for retail jewellery offerings. With a subscription rate of over five times and a substantial anchor book, the company successfully secured its capital requirements. The critical factor for long-term value creation will be how efficiently management executes its stated expansion plans, particularly regarding the new showroom in Maharashtra and the scaling of existing retail operations in Gujarat, while managing debt obligations." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
