Gold prices on Wednesday recorded an increase in futures trade, rising by ₹510 to touch ₹1,39,962 per 10 grams. According to market analysts, the upward movement was driven by fresh positions created by market participants responding to firm spot demand for the precious metal.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the yellow metal contract designated for December delivery traded higher by ₹510, reflecting a 0.37 percent increase. This movement was recorded across a business turnover of 876 lots during the trading session.
The domestic price trend aligned with international movements. In New York, gold futures registered an increase of 0.46 percent, trading at USD 3,947.6 per ounce.
Market analysts noted that the combination of active participation through fresh contract positioning and steady spot market demand supported the higher valuation during the session.
"Movements in commodity markets such as gold futures reflect immediate changes in spot demand and participation patterns. For businesses and entrepreneurs tracking macroeconomic indicators, commodity pricing trends serve as a reliable barometer of broader market sentiment and liquidity flow. Monitoring these shifts is essential for understanding how capital moves across traditional asset classes." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
