ABU DHABI, UAE — Binance has introduced Agent OS, a developer platform and standardized access layer that connects AI applications to the company's financial infrastructure across crypto and traditional markets. Built as part of Binance Intelligence, the company's strategic initiative for AI-powered products, the platform aims to give AI builders, fintech developers, and quantitative trading teams a controlled foundation for creating applications that interact with Binance's trading, market data, wallet, payment, and on-chain capabilities.
The platform supports both ready-made integrations and user-configured AI agents. Through supported AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor, users can authorize agents to access market data, view account information, and execute supported trading activities. These actions remain subject to user-configured permissions and limits, and users can assign each agent to a dedicated subaccount to segregate funds and trading activity.
Jeff Li, VP of Product at Binance, stated that Agent OS addresses the fragmentation developers face when building agentic finance applications. According to the company, the platform provides developers and quantitative traders with reliable data, low-latency infrastructure, and standardized interfaces needed to deploy AI-driven strategies.
Agent OS integrates several existing and new components, including Binance APIs, Binance Wallet Agentic Hub, Binance x402 for programmable payments, Binance Skill Hub, and newly introduced support for the Model Context Protocol (MCP). MCP is an open standard that enables compatible AI applications to connect with and use external tools, reducing the need for developers to build separate integrations for each individual product or use case.
Under the initial MCP implementation, compatible AI applications can access market data, view read-only account information, and place trades. Through the MCP server, users can assign agents to specific subaccounts, adjust permissions, and revoke access at any time. While agents can view balances, portfolio information, and transaction histories of designated subaccounts and main accounts, they cannot access non-trading personal account information such as email addresses or KYC data.
Binance applies monitoring and compliance controls to trading activity and resulting orders initiated through the platform. However, the external information sources, interpretation, and decision-making of the agents remain managed within the user's selected AI application and are not visible to Binance.
"The launch of Agent OS by Binance highlights a significant step toward integrating artificial intelligence directly with core financial infrastructure. By utilizing open standards like the Model Context Protocol, the platform addresses developer fragmentation and establishes a structured framework for automated trading and portfolio management. For fintech developers and quantitative teams, having a secure, permission-based environment to deploy AI agents is essential as the intersection of blockchain and artificial intelligence continues to evolve." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
