Delhi-bound IndiGo Flight Returns to Goa After Engine Snag, Passengers Safe

A Delhi-bound IndiGo flight carrying 229 passengers was forced to return to Goa and execute an emergency landing on Tuesday morning after experiencing an engine malfunction, according to airport officials.

The aircraft departed from the Manohar International Airport located at Mopa in North Goa at 9:20 am. Shortly after takeoff, the flight encountered an issue in one of its engines, prompting the flight crew to turn back immediately.

An official at the airport confirmed the incident to the Press Trust of India, stating that the flight returned safely to the origin airport. There were no reports of injuries among the 229 passengers and crew members on board.

Following the emergency landing, airline officials stated that alternative arrangements were made to transport the stranded passengers to their original destination. Passengers were scheduled to be flown to Delhi on another flight in the afternoon.

Aviation authorities and the airline have not yet released further technical details regarding the specific nature of the engine snag.
