Scotland has expressed its willingness to work alongside India in the area of energy transition, aiming to build modern economies powered by clean energy and international partnerships.
Speaking at the Renewable Energy India (REI) Expo 2026 The Battery Show India event held in Greater Noida, Scotland's First Minister John Swinney highlighted the shared ambitions of both regions.
“If we work together, we can help ensure that more of the economic benefits of the energy transition are felt in our communities, support our businesses and create lasting opportunities for people in both our countries,” Swinney said during his address.
The First Minister noted that Scotland is prepared to act as a partner in India's ongoing energy transition. He added that the collaboration seeks to combine Scottish expertise and innovation with India's scale, talent, and capability to realize mutual goals.
The three-day industry event focuses on clean energy expansion and battery storage solutions in India. According to Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director of Informa Markets in India, the exhibition has drawn significant participation, with over 1,080 exhibitors from more than 10 countries taking part.
Both economies continue to explore avenues for international cooperation, focusing on sustainable energy infrastructure, innovation, and technological exchange to bolster community development and support domestic business ecosystems.
"International collaborations in the clean energy and battery storage sectors are vital for scaling sustainable infrastructure.
