Electric two-wheeler maker Ultraviolette Automotive has launched the X-47 Venom, the first motorcycle built on its newly developed 100V VX-100 architecture. The launch precedes the planned rollout of the Tesseract and Shockwave models next year.
Priced at an introductory ₹2.65 lakh, the motorcycle will be available in the Indian market starting in November. Additionally, Ultraviolette plans to showcase the vehicle at the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan on November 3 for its European launch.
The next-generation X-47 Crossover features an IDC-certified range of 343 km, a top speed of 155 kmph, and an acceleration of 0-100 kmph in 5.9 seconds. It delivers 40 hp of power and 550 Nm of torque at the wheel. The vehicle is reported to be 20 kg lighter than the previous-generation platform, incorporating a new LIGHTFURY motor and SRB-11 battery technology.
The VX-100 architecture aims to enhance overall performance, efficiency, and charging speeds. The X-47 Venom supports 12 kW DC fast charging—which the company notes is a first for an Indian electric two-wheeler—and includes a 1.6 kW onboard charger.
Technological additions on the motorcycle include a seven-inch touchscreen, radar-based rider assistance, integrated front and rear dashcams, cruise control, and a battery management system equipped with a pyro-fuse designed to disconnect the battery during critical failures. Alongside the vehicle, Ultraviolette unveiled B-MAX, an airbag-equipped riding vest intended for upper-body protection during crashes.
In an interaction ahead of the launch, Niraj Rajmohan, CTO and Co-Founder of Ultraviolette, stated that the company plans to introduce approximately four vehicles on the VX-100 platform over the next year. The X-47 maintains a crossover positioning intended for city commutes, long-distance rides, and occasional off-road use.
Regarding manufacturing and global reach, the company is targeting a monthly production of 1,000 vehicles, with portfolio volumes expected to reach 10,000 units per month by October 2027. Exports currently comprise over 10 percent of total volumes and are projected to increase to 15 percent over the next year, and up to 20 to 25 percent in two to two-and-a-half years.
"The launch of the X-47 Venom and the new VX-100 architecture highlights how Indian electric vehicle manufacturers are focusing on proprietary technology and performance upgrades to scale their operations. Introducing high-end features like DC fast charging and expanding into international markets reflect a structured approach to product development and global positioning. Achieving the projected volume targets will depend on execution efficiency and market adoption over the coming years." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
