Dixon Technologies (India) posted a year-on-year revenue growth of approximately 47 percent in Q2 FY27, even as gross and EBITDA margins contracted due to rising global memory prices and the expiry of Mobile PLI 1.0 incentives. The company is evaluating new opportunities in advanced electronics and exploring strategic partnerships to support its medium-term growth outlook.

NEW DELHI — Dixon Technologies (India) has reported a robust year-on-year revenue growth of about 47 percent for the second quarter of fiscal year 2027. However, the financial results also highlighted operational headwinds, with gross margins contracting by 202 basis points and EBITDA margins declining by 104 basis points during the quarter.

Market analysts note that the margin pressure was primarily driven by two key factors: the expiration of the Mobile PLI 1.0 incentives in March 2026, and a sharp increase in global memory prices. The rise in global memory costs has been further supported by escalating demand from artificial intelligence infrastructure and data centers.

In response to the shifting policy landscape, the Government of India notified a new Mobile Phone Manufacturing Scheme in August 2026, featuring a financial outlay of ₹62,500 crore spanning a five-year period from FY27 through FY31.

Capitalizing on emerging technological shifts, Dixon Technologies is currently evaluating expansion opportunities in advanced electronics manufacturing. This includes exploring segments such as silicon photonics, optical transceivers, and advanced semiconductor packaging. These moves are aimed at capturing growing demand originating from AI infrastructure, data centers, and high-speed networking environments. To establish these advanced capabilities domestically, the company is actively exploring strategic partnerships.

Despite the near-term margin contractions, market observers maintain a positive medium-term outlook for the company. Growth is anticipated to be propelled by the rapid scaling of Dixon’s IT hardware and telecom business verticals, alongside higher volumes in mobile manufacturing supported by the integration of the Vivo joint venture.

Based on these operational metrics, analysts have revised their financial estimates and maintained a BUY rating on the stock. Applying a price-to-earnings multiple of approximately 60x to estimated FY28 earnings yields a target price of ₹14,417, which implies an upside potential of about 18 percent from current levels.

"Dixon Technologies' Q2 performance illustrates a classic transition phase for large-scale manufacturing firms navigating policy shifts and global supply chain cost pressures. While the expiry of older incentive schemes and rising memory prices have compressed margins in the short term, the company's proactive push into advanced electronics like silicon photonics and optical transceivers demonstrates strategic foresight. For businesses in the hardware ecosystem, aligning with emerging policy frameworks such as the new manufacturing scheme and scaling joint ventures will be critical to sustaining long-term competitiveness." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
