IndiGo Singapore-Bound Flight Returns to Trichy After Mid-Air Technical Snag

An IndiGo flight operating from Trichy to Singapore was forced to return to Trichy International Airport on Friday after encountering a technical snag mid-air. The aircraft was carrying 127 passengers at the time of the incident.

According to official reports, the flight departed from Trichy at approximately 6:40 PM. Shortly after takeoff, a technical issue was detected. To ensure a safe landing, the aircraft remained in the air, circling the area for about two and a half hours to reduce its fuel load.

Trichy Airport Director Gopalakrishnan confirmed that airport officials maintained continuous communication with the flight crew throughout the duration of the incident. Necessary preparations were made on the ground to facilitate the safe return of the aircraft.

The flight successfully landed back at Trichy airport at around 9:00 PM. Airport authorities coordinated closely with the airline to manage the situation and assist the affected travelers.

Following the safe landing, airline and airport officials arranged an alternative aircraft for the passengers. All 127 passengers were accommodated on the alternate flight to be flown to their original destination in Singapore.
