MUMBAI — Jio Platforms’ Managing Director Akash Ambani said on Wednesday that the investor response to the company’s initial public offering (IPO) exceeded expectations.
Speaking at the company's listing ceremony, Ambani stated that he, along with his siblings Isha and Anant, aims to take the firm to greater heights of growth and excellence.
The listing event was attended by family members, including Mukesh Ambani, Nita Ambani, and Kokilaben.
Addressing the gathering, Akash Ambani outlined the company's objectives for the next ten years. He said the firm aims to democratize technology with the potential to transform Indian lives, which includes plans for connectivity from space.
Ambani described the company's broader ambition as building a digital society with Jio Platforms at its core, where connectivity, computing, and intelligence function together seamlessly.
Commenting on the transition of leadership, he noted that the responsibility of the next generation of the Ambani family is not merely to preserve their inheritance, but to make Jio larger, better, and more impactful for India.
"A blockbuster public offering and successful listing mark a critical milestone for a large-scale technology and telecom enterprise like Jio Platforms. When next-generation leadership steps up with a clear focus on long-term infrastructure, space connectivity, and core digital integration, it sets a strong precedent for market confidence. For the broader Indian business ecosystem, such large public market events demonstrate robust investor appetite for foundational technology platforms that aim to scale digital inclusion over the coming decade." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
