Kauvery Group Launches 120-Bed Dedicated Hospital for Women and Children in Chennai

CHENNAI — Kauvery Hospital - Radial Road has expanded its healthcare footprint with the launch of Maa Kauvery, a dedicated 120-bed facility for women and children in Chennai. The hospital was officially inaugurated by Tamil Nadu Health Minister K.G. Arunraj.

The opening ceremony was attended by key leadership from the Kauvery Group of Hospitals, including Dr. S. Chandrakumar, Founder and Executive Chairman; Dr. Manivannan Selvaraj, Founder and Managing Director; Dr. Aravindan Selvaraj, Co-Founder and Executive Director; and Dr. D. Senguttuvan, Co-Founder and Executive Director.

Maa Kauvery is designed to offer a wide range of medical services under one roof, focusing on maternity care, obstetrics and gynaecology, fertility, neonatology, paediatrics, and paediatric critical care. The facility provides round-the-clock maternity services, managing both normal and high-risk pregnancies through dedicated clinical teams. It includes specialised birthing facilities along with comprehensive antenatal, delivery, and postnatal care coordination for mothers and newborns.

In addition to maternity services, the hospital offers advanced laparoscopic gynaecologic surgery and fetal medicine services. Its women’s healthcare portfolio also extends to fertility treatments through assisted reproductive services such as Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) and In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), alongside general gynaecological care for women across various stages of life.

For neonates and children, the hospital is equipped with advanced infrastructure, including a Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), a Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), and 24/7 paediatric emergency services.

Dr. D. Senguttuvan noted that the group has prior experience in this segment, having successfully operated a 200-bed Maa Kauvery facility in Tiruchi since 2024, which helped develop and refine their integrated model of care for women and children.
