Kochi-based industrial startup Venttup has raised $3 million in a Pre-Series A funding round led by Rainmatter by Zerodha and Unicorn India Ventures. The capital will be deployed toward engineering team expansion, rapid prototyping infrastructure, precision manufacturing facilities, and AI adoption for B2B sourcing.

Kochi-based industrial startup Venttup has announced the successful completion of a $3 million Pre-Series A funding round. The investment was led by Rainmatter by Zerodha and Unicorn India Ventures.

According to the company, the newly raised capital will be utilized to expand its engineering team and invest in a precision manufacturing facility alongside rapid prototyping infrastructure. Additionally, a portion of the funds will be directed toward adopting artificial intelligence to enhance B2B sourcing, improve supplier intelligence, and drive operational efficiency.

Venttup plans to use the financing to support its transition from engineering development to scalable production mode. The company operates across sectors including energy transition, defence, aerospace, and space.

Sandeep Nair, Co-founder and CEO of Venttup, commented, “India’s next phase of manufacturing growth requires strong engineering capabilities that can translate complex requirements into validated, production-ready components. At Venttup, we are building an engineering-first manufacturing company that brings together design standardisation, rapid prototyping, testing and scalable production through India’s capable MSME ecosystem.”

“Our ambition is to build resilient supply chains for critical sectors while advancing our mission of ‘India for India, India for the World’—developing indigenous capabilities for domestic needs and making India a trusted source of high-value manufacturing for global markets,” he added.

As part of its expansion strategy, Venttup is establishing a new manufacturing facility in Bengaluru to strengthen its rapid prototyping and precision manufacturing capabilities. This facility is designed to support precision machining, turning, and sheet metal production aimed at energy transition, defence, aerospace, and space applications. The setup is intended to shorten the timeline from component development and validation to production readiness and mass manufacturing.

The company is currently scaling its operations across four strategic business verticals: energy transition and data centres; aerospace, defence, and space systems; smart infrastructure and future mobility; and electronics, automation, and smart manufacturing. Through these verticals, Venttup aims to establish itself as a long-term development and manufacturing partner for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), technology companies, and emerging deep-tech businesses, thereby supporting domestic supply-chain resilience and global sourcing initiatives from India.

"The infusion of $3 million into Venttup highlights growing investor confidence in India's industrial and manufacturing technology sectors. By focusing on precision manufacturing, rapid prototyping, and AI-driven supply chains, the company is addressing critical gaps in high-value sectors like aerospace, defence, and energy transition. Leveraging India's MSME ecosystem for scalable production represents a practical business model that aligns well with domestic demand and global sourcing trends." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
