Amity University Launches Global Research Hub in New York to Drive India-US Innovation

Amity University has officially launched the Amity Global Research Hub (AGRH) in New York, marking a strategic effort to strengthen bilateral cooperation in science, technology, and innovation between India and the United States.

The inauguration took place on August 21, 2026, at the Consulate General of India in New York under the theme 'Shaping the Future through Emerging Technologies.' The event also featured the unveiling of the AGRH website and research brochure, alongside panel discussions focused on multi-sector partnerships and emerging technologies.

AGRH is designed as a multidisciplinary international platform to connect academic institutions, researchers, industry participants, innovators, and other stakeholders. The initiative aims to facilitate collaborative research, knowledge exchange, and technology-led solutions addressing global challenges.

The launch event brought together representatives from several prominent American academic and research institutions, including Rutgers University, Georgia Institute of Technology, CUNY, Long Island University, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and the National Cancer Institute.

Dr. Aseem Chauhan, Chancellor of Amity University and Chairman of AGRH, stated that the hub is intended to serve as a bridge connecting India's research strengths and talent with the academic, scientific, and entrepreneurial ecosystem of the United States.

Dr. Sandeep Mittan, Director of AGRH and Vice President of Research and Development, noted that the platform will create opportunities for young researchers, students, and innovators to participate in international research networks.

Prof. (Dr.) W. Selvamurthy, President of the Amity Science, Technology & Innovation Foundation, emphasized the multidisciplinary approach required to tackle modern challenges such as health, climate change, energy, advanced manufacturing, and digital technologies. He noted that the hub aims to facilitate the transition of ideas from research and discovery to technology development and societal impact.

The initiative aligns with the expanding strategic relationship between India and the United States in science, technology, education, and innovation, aiming to build long-term international research partnerships that generate tangible outcomes in entrepreneurship and technology.
