Andhra Pradesh Invites Tenders for 12 Healthcare Infrastructure Projects Worth ₹221 Crore

The Andhra Pradesh state government has initiated the tender process for 12 infrastructure works estimated at ₹221 crore. According to State Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav, the projects are aimed at constructing buildings for Ayush medical services and education, alongside providing upgraded facilities at existing government hospitals.

Of the 12 projects approved for tender, 10 are designated for the Ayush department, while the remaining two fall under the allopathic medical department. The Andhra Pradesh Medical Services and Infrastructure Development Corporation (APMSIDC) is executing the tender process via e-procurement.

A significant portion of the outlay is allocated under the National Ayush Mission (NAM). Under this mission, 50-bed integrated Ayush hospitals will be constructed across six locations. These include Tekkali in Srikakulam district, Tirupati district, and Tenali in Guntur district, with the estimated cost pegged at ₹10 crore each for Tekkali and Tirupati. Additional locations comprise Rampachodavaram in Polavaram district, Nandigama in NTR district, and Giddalur in Markapuram district, each budgeted at ₹10.5 crore.

Furthermore, the infrastructure plan includes the establishment of a Government Unani Medical College in Proddatur, Kadapa district, and a Government Ayurveda Medical College in Dharmavaram, Sri Sathya Sai district. Both colleges are slated for construction at an estimated cost of ₹49 crore each.

Additional allocations under the Ayush sector involve ₹3.04 crore designated for extra construction above the existing second floor of a 50-bed integrated Ayush hospital. This includes building a third floor to accommodate necessary facilities for the college's clinical department.

In the allopathic medical sector, the state has planned two major upgrades. The 50-bed Community Health Centre in Chinturu will be upgraded into a 100-bed regional hospital at an estimated cost of ₹21.9 crore. Additionally, ₹27.1 crore has been earmarked to construct a new Outpatient Department building at the Kakinada Government General Hospital.
