Fovea Infotech, an AI-powered technology and digital transformation startup founded by Chandigarh University Computer Science Engineering alumnus Abubakar Akhlaq, has crossed Rs 50 lakh in sales in less than one year of operations. Founded in July 2025, the company has rapidly evolved to serve startups, SMEs, and enterprises across sectors such as real estate, hospitality, healthcare, education, manufacturing, retail, and professional services.
The concept for Fovea Infotech was originally envisioned by Akhlaq in 2022 during his engineering studies at Chandigarh University. Recognizing that many businesses struggled with outdated processes, disconnected systems, and fragmented digital strategies, Akhlaq aimed to bridge the gap between technology and business by offering comprehensive solutions under a single ecosystem.
Addressing the company's Unique Selling Proposition, Akhlaq noted that many businesses traditionally work with multiple vendors for software, web development, marketing, and branding, leading to inefficiencies and increased costs. Fovea Infotech addresses this by providing an integrated suite of services, including custom software development, mobile applications, AI automation and RAG-based AI solutions, CRM and ERP development, SaaS product development, website design, brand strategy, performance marketing, SEO, and cloud and DevOps solutions.
The startup's client portfolio and service offerings have seen consistent growth since its formal launch in July 2025. Looking ahead, Fovea Infotech plans to launch proprietary SaaS platforms, expand its AI and automation products, build strategic technology partnerships, and serve international clients across the Middle East, Europe, and North America. The company also aims to create employment opportunities for young technology professionals and invest in research and innovation in artificial intelligence.
Commenting on the institutional support behind his venture, Akhlaq credited Chandigarh University's innovation-driven environment, industry-oriented curriculum, and practical project opportunities for helping build his technical knowledge and entrepreneurial mindset.
Deepinder Singh Sandhu, Senior Managing Director at Chandigarh University, noted that the institution promotes job creation by nurturing entrepreneurship skills among students. According to the university, its students have created over 250 startups since 2012, supported by initiatives like the Chandigarh University-Technology Business Incubator (CU-TBI), which is mobilizing Rs 5 crore to catalyze growth in the campus startup ecosystem.
"Reaching a Rs 50 lakh turnover in less than a year of operations highlights the growing market demand for consolidated technology and AI automation services. For early-stage student founders, focusing on a clear pain point—such as eliminating fragmented vendor management for SMEs—provides a practical roadmap for rapid commercial validation and revenue generation." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
