John Deere India has announced that it sold over 100,000 tractors in the country during the October-September fiscal year. The milestone reflects the increasing adoption of farm mechanization across diverse agricultural landscapes in India.

NEW DELHI: Farm equipment major John Deere India has crossed the milestone of selling more than 1 lakh tractors in a single Deere fiscal year, spanning from October to September.

According to a media statement released by the company, the development marks a significant operational chapter for John Deere in India. The company attributed the sales performance to the growing role of farm mechanisation in enhancing agricultural productivity and efficiency across the country. Over the years, the company has deployed a portfolio of locally relevant solutions designed to cater to the evolving needs of Indian agriculture, accommodating diverse crops, farming practices, and agro-climatic conditions.

Commenting on the milestone, Rajesh Sinha, Managing Director and Country Manager of John Deere India, stated that crossing the one-lakh sales mark represents a strong vote of confidence from Indian farmers and channel partners. He reiterated the company's commitment to providing reliable equipment and advanced technology aimed at improving productivity, profitability, and sustainability in farming.

John Deere has maintained a commercial and operational presence in India for over 28 years. The company's footprint in the country includes tractor manufacturing facilities located in Pune and Dewas. Additionally, it operates engineering and enterprise technology centers in Pune, global IT hubs in Pune and Bengaluru, parts distribution facilities in Nagpur and Indore, and financial services operations based in Pune. These domestic operations support not only the local agricultural market but also John Deere's global business network.

"Achieving sales of over one lakh units in a single fiscal year demonstrates strong product-market fit and deep distribution reach in the agricultural sector. For large manufacturing enterprises, sustaining this scale requires robust supply chain management, localized product development, and strong channel partner networks. John Deere's long-term presence of over 28 years in India highlights how consistent investments in manufacturing, engineering, and financial services can build lasting enterprise value and address complex, diverse regional markets effectively." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
