Manipal Health Enterprises has announced a cash acquisition of Kinder Women's Hospital in Bengaluru for ₹130 crore. The transaction involves signing a Business Transfer Agreement to take over the hospital's entire operations and assets in the Doddanekundi micro-market.

Integrated healthcare provider Manipal Health Enterprises has announced that it will acquire Kinder Women's Hospital in Bengaluru for a cash consideration of ₹130 crore.

According to the company's official statement, Manipal Health Enterprises has signed a Business Transfer Agreement (BTA) with Kindorama Healthcare Private Limited. The agreement entails acquiring the entire operations and assets of Kinder Women's Hospital located in Doddanekundi, Bengaluru, Karnataka. The transaction is structured as a business transfer and does not involve the acquisition of shares.

The addition of the facility is expected to help consolidate Manipal Hospitals' presence within Bengaluru's healthcare sector, specifically strengthening its footprint in the fast-growing Whitefield micro-market. The company stated that the acquisition complements its existing healthcare ecosystem in the region and expands access to its clinical expertise and capabilities.

Dilip Jose, Managing Director and CEO of Manipal Health Enterprises, commented on the development, stating that the acquisition strengthens the provider's presence in a key micro-market and aligns with its ongoing efforts to deliver patient-centric care.

The integration of Kinder Women's Hospital adds to Manipal's operational network in Karnataka as the healthcare provider continues to scale its presence across major urban centers in India.

"This strategic acquisition highlights how established healthcare providers are utilizing asset purchases and business transfers to consolidate their presence in high-growth micro-markets like Whitefield in Bengaluru. By acquiring an operational facility rather than scaling from the ground up, Manipal Health Enterprises is effectively optimizing its time-to-market and expanding its regional capacity. For the broader Indian healthcare and business ecosystem, such consolidation deals demonstrate a clear trend toward strengthening localized delivery networks through targeted capital allocation." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
