E-commerce firm Meesho has released its financial performance figures for the fiscal year 2026, reporting a revenue climb to Rs 12,626 crore. During the same period, the company's net loss narrowed to Rs 1,358 crore, while total tax disputes rose to Rs 2,071.8 crore.
Alongside the financial disclosures, venture capital firm Y Combinator has sold a 1.05% stake in Meesho through a block deal for nearly Rs 970 crore. Domestic and foreign institutional investors participated in the transaction to acquire the shares being offloaded.
In broader corporate developments across the Indian business ecosystem, Mahindra has launched the BLAZO i-TRK featuring a 320 HP engine and AI-enabled drive mode, reporting claims of up to 10% better fuel efficiency and potential profit gains of Rs 15 lakh. Meanwhile, regulatory bodies including SEBI, RRU, and NISM have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance cybersecurity training, research, and capacity building, which includes a proposed Technical Innovation Unit.
In the wider macroeconomic environment, Citi’s outlook on the Indian economy remains constructive, projecting real GDP growth for the first quarter of fiscal year 2027 at around 7.8%. The report notes that rural consumption is holding up well despite monsoon-related risks, and investment activity is showing a partial recovery following disruptions related to Middle East conflicts.
Additionally, regulatory shifts continue to impact cross-border operations, with the United States proposing an additional $103,265 fee for H-1B cap-subject applications, including petitions eligible for the master’s degree exemption. Within the public markets and domestic startup space, investor attention remains focused on evolving corporate earnings, executive leadership movements, and regulatory compliance updates.
"Meesho's financial update for FY26 reflects a positive trajectory of revenue expansion alongside a meaningful reduction in losses, signaling improving unit economics. At the same time, early-stage investor exits like Y Combinator's block deal demonstrate natural liquidity cycles in secondary markets for mature Indian startups. As companies scale toward profitability, managing regulatory liabilities and tax disputes will remain just as critical as top-line growth for sustained investor confidence." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
