Neo Wealth and Asset Management (Neo Group) has announced its entry into the mutual fund segment. The newly launched fund house plans to introduce schemes across liquid, arbitrage, diversified equity, and multi-asset allocation categories, pending regulatory approvals.

Neo Wealth and Asset Management (Neo Group) announced its entry into the mutual fund business on Friday with the launch of Neo Mutual Fund. The move is part of the company's broader plans to expand its financial services platform.

Subject to regulatory approvals, the newly established fund house will initially launch schemes across liquid, arbitrage, diversified equity, and multi-asset allocation categories.

To helm the operations, Neo Mutual Fund has brought together approximately 10 experienced fund managers. According to the company's statement, these managers have collectively managed assets worth over ₹2 lakh crore in their previous roles.

In terms of geographical expansion and distribution, the fund house plans to establish a presence across more than 25 locations in the country. It aims to build a nationwide distribution network by collaborating with mutual fund distributors, independent financial advisors, banks, and wealth managers.

The company stated that its initial focus will be centered on strengthening investment capabilities, building credibility, and developing distribution partnerships. It currently has no short-term assets under management (AUM) target.

As of September 30, 2026, Neo Group managed around ₹1.46 lakh crore in total client assets across assets under advice and assets under management.

Data from the Association of Mutual Funds in India indicates that the country currently has 57 mutual fund houses, which collectively managed assets worth over ₹87 lakh crore as of September 2026.

"Neo Group's entry into the mutual fund segment reflects a strategic expansion of its existing financial services platform into a highly competitive market. By focusing initially on strengthening investment capabilities, building distribution partnerships, and assembling an experienced team rather than pursuing short-term AUM targets, the company is adopting a measured approach. Entering a sector with 57 existing players managing over ₹87 lakh crore requires clear differentiation and strong execution across its planned 25 locations." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
