Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has announced a new 10-year liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply agreement with Gujarat Energy, an energy firm in India. The agreement marks another step for the company in expanding its commercial footprint within one of Asia's primary energy markets.
This latest pact follows a significant transaction finalized earlier this year. In January, ADNOC Gas signed a $3 billion agreement with India's Hindustan Petroleum Corp to supply 0.5 million metric tons of LNG annually over a 10-year period.
With the conclusion of this agreement with Gujarat Energy, the cumulative value of ADNOC's active long-term energy contracts and commitments with Indian buyers now exceeds $20 billion, reflecting sustained commercial engagement between the two regions in the energy sector.
"Long-term supply agreements of this scale highlight the stability and predictability that major energy corporations seek when entering growing markets like India. Deals surpassing the $20 billion threshold demonstrate long-term demand visibility and strategic alignment between suppliers and regional energy providers, which is essential for capital-intensive sectors like liquefied natural gas." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
