Purple Style Labs Ltd (PSLL), the parent company operating the luxury fashion omnichannel platform Pernia's Pop-Up Shop, is preparing to launch its Initial Public Offering (IPO) valued at ₹680 crore. According to the company's Red Herring Prospectus (RHP), the three-day public offering will open on August 31 and conclude on September 2. Bidding for anchor investors will take place for a single day on August 28.
The company filed its Updated Draft Red Herring Prospectus with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and secured regulatory approval for the public issue in January. This upcoming offering marks Purple Style Labs' debut in the public markets.
The IPO structure is entirely a fresh issue of equity shares, with no Offer For Sale (OFS) component included. Proceeds from the public issue will be deployed across specific corporate requirements. The company plans to utilize ₹371.13 crore of the funds for investment in its wholly-owned subsidiary, PSL Retail, to cover lease liabilities for Experience Centers and back-end offices in India. Additionally, ₹138.90 crore will be directed toward sales and marketing expenses, with the remaining balance allocated for general corporate purposes.
The public listing comes at a time of notable growth within India's wedding and luxury consumption sectors. Industry estimates indicate that the country's wedding industry has surpassed ₹10 lakh crore, while the wedding-wear segment is projected to reach ₹3.4 lakh crore by FY30. Furthermore, India's personal luxury market is expected to touch ₹2.31 lakh crore.
Promoted by Abhishek Agarwal, who maintains a 27.10 percent stake in the firm, Purple Style Labs is supported by a mix of institutional investors, family offices, and private investors. The company's publicly disclosed celebrity backers include Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and his family, Sachin Tendulkar, Madhuri Dixit, and Mahesh Babu.
Alongside the public offering, the company continues to scale its physical retail footprint. Its current network features the flagship Pernia's Pop-Up Studio at Fort in Mumbai, an experience centre on Linking Road in Mumbai, and an international outlet on Madison Avenue in New York. Overall, Pernia's Pop-Up Shop offers over 2 lakh products sourced from more than 1,300 designers across its digital platform and 14 physical experience centres.
Axis Capital Ltd and IIFL Capital Services Ltd are managing the issue as the book running lead managers.
"The decision by Purple Style Labs to launch a ₹680 crore entirely fresh-issue IPO reflects the growing maturity of India's niche luxury and retail sectors. By directing a significant portion of the capital toward lease liabilities and experience centers, the company is focusing on strengthening its omnichannel infrastructure. As consumer spending in the wedding and luxury segments continues to expand, this public listing will provide the necessary growth capital to support both domestic scaling and retail footprint expansion." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
