NEW DELHI — Digital publishing and media operations continue to evolve as platforms update their underlying digital infrastructure. Recently, digital news publication The Hindu Businessline announced a transition to a new commenting platform, shifting its user engagement system to Vuukle.
Under the updated system, registered users who are already logged into The Hindu Businessline can continue to participate in discussions and post comments on articles without interruption. New users are required to register and log in to access the commenting features.
The platform transition also addresses the accessibility of historical user data. Readers looking to view their older comments can access them by logging directly into their accounts on the Vuukle platform.
Alongside the infrastructure update, the publication has reiterated its established community guidelines for user engagement. According to the platform rules, all submitted comments must be composed in English and written in full sentences. The guidelines explicitly prohibit abusive, personal, or non-compliant remarks, maintaining standard moderation practices across digital news media outlets.
"Platform migrations and technology upgrades are critical operational decisions for digital publishers. Transitioning user-generated content infrastructure requires balancing technical stability with user retention. For media businesses, ensuring that historical data remains accessible while onboarding users to a new third-party system like Vuukle helps maintain community engagement without disrupting the reader experience." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
