NEW DELHI — TVS Motor Company has released details from its FY26 annual report, outlining accelerated execution across five key strategic priorities: premiumization, electric vehicle (EV) leadership, commercial mobility, sustainability, and global expansion.
The company's strategic focus is supported by sustained investments in research and development, which have increased fivefold over a ten-year period to reach ₹1,250 crore, representing 2.7 percent of FY26 revenue. Additionally, brand investments accounted for 4 percent of revenue during the period.
These initiatives contributed to TVS Motor's performance, positioning the company as the world's third-largest two-wheeler manufacturer in FY26, up from fifth place in FY21. Management noted that the company reached the second position in FY27TD and the top spot in July 2026, recording what it considers its strongest year with 5.9 million units sold.
The annual report places premiumization at the center of its strategy, with the Norton brand entering its monetization phase. The company's multi-brand portfolio, which includes the Jupiter, Apache, Raider, iQube, and Ntorq, supports its market positioning across multiple segments. Furthermore, a partnership with HMIL for next-generation electric three-wheelers and continued expansion in commercial mobility, including financing tie-ups, are expected to support future market share gains as the ecosystem matures.
Describing the outlook ahead, the Chairman characterized the road ahead as unpredictable, complex, and exciting, while emphasizing a strategy of measured optimism. The company's focus on anticipating consumer preferences and incubating new categories is intended to support ongoing market gains alongside India's transition to electric vehicles.
Based on these operational metrics, financial projections estimate an FY26-29E compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 19 percent for revenue, 22 percent for EBITDA, and 26 percent for PAT. Analysts have reiterated a Buy rating with an unchanged target price of ₹5,300, pegged at 35x June-28E earnings per share.
"TVS Motor's steady focus on R&D investment and category expansion demonstrates how traditional manufacturing companies can successfully adapt to evolving market demands, particularly in the electric vehicle and premium segments. Consistent execution across strategic priorities, alongside disciplined financial planning, creates a solid foundation for long-term scalability and market leadership in a competitive automotive landscape." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
