Xiaomi Unveils REDMI Note 17 Series Globally with 10,000mAh Battery and Six-Year Reliability Commitment

Xiaomi has globally launched the REDMI Note 17 Series, introducing four new models led by the Pro Max variant. The new lineup features a 10,000mAh battery, enhanced durability standards, and a six-year commitment covering battery longevity, security updates, and system smoothness.

BEIJING — Xiaomi has officially unveiled the REDMI Note 17 Series, expanding its mid-range smartphone lineup with four new models, including the first-ever Pro Max variant. The global launch introduces hardware updates focused on battery capacity, durability, and a multi-year reliability commitment.

According to Xiaomi, the REDMI Note series has shipped over 500 million devices across more than 100 markets over its 12-year history. The new series aims to build on this milestone by addressing consumer demand for longer device lifespans in the mid-range segment.

Leading the new lineup, the REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G is equipped with a 10,000mAh Silicon-Carbon Battery. The company states that the battery delivers up to three days of use on a single charge and supports 100W HyperCharge, allowing a full day of power in 20 minutes under Boost Mode, alongside 27W wired reverse charging. Other models in the series feature varied capacities, with the REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G housing an 8,340mAh battery with 67W HyperCharge, and the REDMI Note 17 5G and standard REDMI Note 17 carrying 7,700mAh batteries with 45W turbo charging.

The entire series is supported by a smart battery management system designed to retain battery health for up to six years of use. Xiaomi has tied this to a broader six-year "built for years" commitment, which also spans security patch updates and sustained system smoothness, though specific coverage varies by model and market.

In terms of durability, the Pro models adhere to REDMI Titan Quality standards. They feature IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K dust and water resistance ratings, 2-meter water resistance tested for 72 hours, Wet Touch Technology 2.0, and 3-meter drop resistance certification by SGS. The builds utilize Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.

The REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G features a 6.83-inch display with 1.5K resolution and up to 3,500 nits of peak brightness. It is powered by Xiaomi HyperAI, integrating features such as AI Glare Removal and AI Erase Pro, and supports 4K video recording and dual-video capabilities.
