Bengaluru-based Prodigy Technovations Launches Industry's First UFS 5.0 Protocol Exerciser and Analyzer

BENGALURU — Bengaluru-based protocol analysis solutions provider Prodigy Technovations Pvt. Ltd has announced the commercial launch of the PGY-UFS5-EX-PA. The company positions the hardware as the industry's first UFS 5.0 protocol exerciser and analyzer, aimed at accelerating the development of next-generation flash memory interfaces.

The newly launched tool supports the JEDEC UFS 5.0 specification, MIPI M-PHY® v6.0, and MIPI UniPro® v3.0. According to the company, it enables data transfer rates of up to 46.64Gbps per lane, a performance metric targeted at meeting the demands of artificial intelligence workloads, high-speed mobile computing, automotive ADAS, and immersive AR/VR applications.

As artificial intelligence shifts from cloud infrastructure to edge devices, modern mobile hardware and automotive Systems-on-Chip (SoCs) face increased storage performance requirements. The PGY-UFS5-EX-PA is designed to provide design and test engineers with capabilities to validate UniPro v3.0 and UFS 5.0 designs against established reliability and performance standards.

Godfree Coelho, Founder and CEO of Prodigy Technovations, noted that the transition toward on-device AI necessitates changes in data access and movement. He stated that the probing solution and protocol analysis features within the PGY-UFS5-EX-PA are built to tackle the signal acquisition challenges of PAM4 at 46.64Gbps, assisting SoC and UFS 5.0 vendors in establishing high-performance storage foundations.

Prodigy Technovations maintains a history as a Contributor member of the MIPI Alliance, participating actively within its M-PHY and UniPro working groups. The PGY-UFS5.0-EX-PA is currently available for orders. Beyond this new release, Prodigy Technovations specializes in protocol analysis, decode, and PHY layer testing solutions across various technologies including PCIe 5.0, eMMC, SD, SDIO, UHS-II, MIPI I3C, MIPI RFFE, and MIPI SPMI.
