Digital consumer financing fintech Fibe has announced plans to raise ₹750 crore. According to the company, the capital will be deployed primarily to strengthen its lending subsidiary and to fund general corporate purposes, alongside further investments in technology and artificial intelligence capabilities to build a scalable digital lending platform.
The planned fundraise follows a period of notable growth for the firm. Fibe's assets under management (AUM) expanded at a compounded annual growth rate of 45 per cent, reaching ₹8,603 crore as of March 2026, up from ₹4,064 crore as of March 31, 2024. Furthermore, the company reported a profit of ₹257 crore for FY26, marking an increase from ₹114 crore in FY25.
Fibe operates on a technology-led model that utilizes artificial intelligence and machine learning across various operations, including the expansion of its purpose-driven financing vertical. The company intends to deepen this integration across customer engagement, risk assessment, credit decisioning, portfolio management, and employee productivity. Its technology infrastructure supports multiple lending products and distribution channels across India through a mobile application and web interface.
Operational metrics shared by the company indicate significant activity during FY26. Fibe's technology ecosystem processed approximately 1.31 million loan applications per month, leading to fresh disbursals totalling ₹7,614 crore during the year. The platform also managed 15.74 million unique applicants, defined as individuals applying for their first loan on the platform within the period.
As part of its credit assessment process, which relies on AI and ML, customers provide employment, demographic, residential, and income details. Fibe utilizes a proprietary scorecard that evaluates credit bureau data, internal policy checks, behavioural indicators, and income estimation models. Out of the total unique applicants during FY26, 2.02 million were approved through this assessment workflow.
Additionally, the fintech utilizes internal tools such as Fibe Mind, which allows management to track business information, monitor trends, and analyze performance drivers to aid decision-making. It also employs an AI engineering agent to assist internal technology teams with software development tasks, including testing, code generation, and deployment through workflows and system integration.
"Fibe's planned fundraise of ₹750 crore reflects steady operational scaling and sound financial performance, highlighted by its profitability of ₹257 crore in FY26 and AUM growth to ₹8,603 crore. By systematically integrating artificial intelligence and machine learning into credit assessment, risk evaluation, and internal development workflows, the company is demonstrating how technology-driven operations can drive efficiency and expand reach in the competitive digital lending sector. Capital allocation toward its lending subsidiary and core tech infrastructure will be crucial for maintaining this trajectory." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
