BENGALURU — Kshema Power announced on Tuesday that it has secured a transmission infrastructure order for a 315 MW wind power project located in Karnataka. The contract was awarded by an independent power producer, whose identity was not disclosed by the company.
According to the company statement, the project involves the supply, civil works, and commissioning of roughly 33 kilometres of a 220 kV single-circuit transmission line built on double-circuit and multi-circuit towers. The scope also includes associated unit substations and 33 kV transmission line infrastructure.
Sateesh Basant, Managing Director of Kshema Power, stated that the project reflects the company's focus on building infrastructure that facilitates the efficient and reliable movement of renewable energy from generation sites to consumption points.
The agreement covers an integrated scope of work, ranging from procuring necessary high-voltage transmission approvals and substation infrastructure to electrical balance of plant, civil works, erection, and commissioning. This development adds to Kshema Power's portfolio as an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) partner for large-scale renewable energy projects.
To date, Kshema Power has executed over 5.2 GW of renewable energy infrastructure globally. This includes more than 4,500 MW of wind EPC projects, over 2,000 kilometres of power transmission lines, and upwards of 2,400 MVA of substation capacity.
"The expansion of transmission infrastructure is a critical component for the growth of large-scale renewable energy projects. Securing end-to-end EPC contracts for high-capacity projects highlights the operational capabilities required to manage complex power evacuation systems. As the renewable energy sector continues to scale up, companies that can reliably deliver integrated transmission and substation solutions will play an essential role in bridging the gap between clean energy generation and final consumption." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
