NEW DELHI: Infrastructure major Larsen & Toubro (L&T) announced on Wednesday that its construction and mining machinery business has entered into a partnership with French firm FAYAT Road Equipment.
Under the agreement, L&T will manage the marketing, sales, after-sales support, and supply of spares for BOMAG's specialised road construction equipment in the Indian market.
FAYAT operates as France's largest independent construction group and holds a global position in the road equipment market. Germany-based BOMAG functions as a part of FAYAT's road equipment division, known globally for providing technologies and sustainable solutions for road construction and infrastructure development.
The partnership combines BOMAG's road construction technologies with L&T's customer relationships and nationwide product support capabilities.
Anil V Parab, Senior Executive Vice President and Whole-time Director for Manufacturing at L&T, commented on the development.
"The specialised BOMAG range of equipment will complement L&T's existing road machinery portfolio, enabling L&T to address a broader range of applications across road construction & maintenance and overall infrastructure development. Together, these products will enable L&T to offer the full range of road machinery to its esteemed customers," said Anil V Parab.
Larsen & Toubro is a USD 32-billion Indian multinational conglomerate engaged in engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects, hi-tech manufacturing, products, and services, operating across diverse domains and multiple geographies.
"This strategic partnership between Larsen & Toubro and FAYAT Road Equipment highlights the importance of global technology integration in the Indian infrastructure sector. By bringing BOMAG's specialised machinery under its wing alongside robust local support, L&T is effectively strengthening its value proposition for road construction and maintenance clients. Collaborations of this nature allow established market leaders to expand their product portfolios efficiently while meeting the growing demand for advanced infrastructure development tools in India." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
