Symphony Ltd has released its financial results for the second quarter of fiscal year 2027, reporting a sharp jump in consolidated revenue and operating profit. The performance was primarily driven by the company's overseas subsidiaries, offsetting modest growth in the India standalone business.
For the quarter ended September 2026, consolidated revenue from operations rose 31 per cent year-on-year to ₹275 crore, compared to ₹210 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year. Consolidated EBITDA surged 166 per cent to ₹36 crore from ₹13 crore, with the EBITDA margin expanding by 6.6 percentage points to reach 13 per cent. Consolidated profit after tax grew 44 per cent to ₹24 crore.
For the first half of FY27, consolidated revenue stood at ₹653 crore, marking a 17 per cent increase, while EBITDA grew 63 per cent to ₹83 crore.
International operations were the primary growth drivers during the quarter. IMPCO Mexico registered a 131 per cent increase in revenue, while CTPL Australia grew 54 per cent. However, GSK China recorded a 29 per cent decline, and Bonaire in the USA was noted as having a non-seasonal quarter. The company’s Beyond India Summer Products (BISP) segment recorded a trailing twelve-month revenue of ₹625 crore, accounting for 51 per cent of total consolidated revenue.
In contrast, the India standalone business experienced more modest growth. Standalone revenue grew 9 per cent to ₹170 crore, while EBITDA rose 11 per cent to ₹30 crore. The standalone EBITDA margin remained stable at 17.5 per cent. Standalone profit after tax grew by 1 per cent to ₹29 crore, constrained by a forex variance of ₹4 crore and lower treasury income of ₹3 crore. The company's standalone treasury position stood at ₹468 crore as of September 30, 2026.
Looking ahead, Symphony announced plans to expand its product portfolio by entering three new categories in the December 2026 quarter: residential air conditioners, BLDC ceiling fans, and air purifiers. The company is entering the residential AC market with eight inverter variants across standard and heavy-duty series. The BLDC ceiling fan range will feature seven models, and the air purifier range will comprise two models marketed under the Silenzair brand. According to the company, the combined total addressable market for these three categories exceeds ₹60,000 crore.
On the National Stock Exchange (NSE), Symphony shares closed at ₹511.60 on October 29, 2026, marking a 1.70 per cent increase for the day, though the stock remains down over 44 per cent year-to-date.
"Symphony's Q2 FY27 results clearly demonstrate the value of a diversified geographic footprint, with international subsidiaries stepping up to drive top-line and margin expansion while the domestic market experienced a steadier phase. Entering new categories like residential air conditioners, BLDC ceiling fans, and air purifiers represents a significant expansion into a large addressable market exceeding ₹60,000 crore. Execution and distribution strategy in these competitive new segments will be crucial for long-term growth as the company balances its domestic portfolio with its established global presence." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
