Tech incubator T-Hub has partnered with the Central Command of the Army to connect defence start-ups with active military challenges. The collaboration aims to aid defence modernisation by enabling founders to develop and validate technologies for real deployment conditions.

Tech start-up incubator T-Hub has announced a collaboration with the Central Command of the Army. The partnership is designed to provide a direct pathway for defence start-ups to work on real problem statements and military deployments.

Under this initiative, founders will be able to develop and validate technologies aimed at tackling active military challenges, thereby contributing to the country’s defence modernisation efforts. The operational framework involves T-Hub receiving active problem statements directly from the Central Command. T-Hub will then identify and select relevant start-ups capable of addressing these specific challenges.

To oversee the initiative, a joint committee will be established to supervise programme execution and manage engagements between the participating start-ups and Army stakeholders.

T-Hub has an established track record in the defence sector. The organisation is one of 28 entities selected to implement the Ministry of Defence-led iDEX scheme. Through this involvement, T-Hub has engaged with over 100 defence start-ups, helping them unlock more than ₹250 crore in commercial defence orders.

Commenting on the partnership, Kavikrut, CEO of T-Hub, stated that founders require direct engagement with end-users to ensure their technologies meet real deployment conditions, noting that the collaboration creates that necessary pathway.

"This partnership marks a significant step in bridging the gap between early-stage innovation and institutional deployment in India's defence sector. By connecting start-ups directly with the Central Command of the Army, founders gain access to authentic operational requirements rather than working in isolation. T-Hub's existing experience with the iDEX scheme provides a solid foundation for this initiative, which has already demonstrated commercial viability with over ₹250 crore in orders. For founders building dual-use or defence technologies, direct feedback loops from end-users are critical for validation and long-term scaling." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
