Advanced medical device provider Healthware announced on Tuesday that it has entered into a collaboration with Fujifilm, a global diagnostics and optical technology firm. The partnership is designed to widen the use of intra-operative ultrasound systems across India to address critical clinical needs during complex surgical procedures.
According to the companies, the initiative will improve access to real-time intra-operative ultrasound across the country. This technology is intended to enable precise anatomical identification, tumour assessment, and surgical navigation. Healthware will support the rollout through its pan-India service and clinical support network.

Koji Wada, Managing Director of Fujifilm India, added that the collaboration marks an important step toward advancing surgical ultrasound solutions in the country. He noted that the partnership combines technological innovation with clinical expertise to empower healthcare professionals in decision-making and contribute to better patient outcomes.
"Strategic partnerships between established global technology firms and specialized regional medical device providers are essential for scaling advanced healthcare infrastructure. By combining Fujifilm's imaging technology with Healthware's service network, this collaboration addresses a vital clinical need in Indian operating rooms. For businesses in the medical technology sector, leveraging local service capabilities to deploy specialized surgical equipment can significantly improve market access and clinical adoption." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
