Following the death of legendary left-arm spinner Bishan Singh Bedi in October 2023, a new commemorative volume titled 'To Bishan with Love: Celebrating a Lifetime of Memories' has been published by his wife, Anju Bedi.

The book has been compiled through contributions from 33 individuals who shared their personal memories and reflections of the late cricketer. Anju Bedi opens the volume with an essay detailing her life with the sportsman. Her contribution is followed by pieces from family members, including her son Angad, daughter-in-law Neha, and granddaughter Suhavi.

The publication incorporates recollections from nineteen fellow cricketers who played alongside, against, or under the mentorship of Bedi. Among the contributors are established writers and former players such as Ian Chappell, Greg Chappell, Mike Holding, and Mike Brearley. The volume also features essays by former players Murali Kartik and Shishir Hattangadi, alongside commentary from various cultural figures and scholars, including Sharmila Tagore.

The essays highlight various aspects of Bedi's life and career, documenting his bowling skill, his adherence to the spirit of the game, and his principle that players must first strive to be good human beings. The book touches upon several notable historical incidents from Bedi's playing career, including matches in Kingston, Jamaica in 1976 and Pakistan in 1978, where sporting principles and player safety became central concerns.

"The publication of 'To Bishan with Love' demonstrates the enduring legacy of a prominent sporting figure and highlights how personal histories can be structured into meaningful literary projects. While this is a creative and biographical work rather than a corporate enterprise, the meticulous compilation of contributions from 33 diverse voices offers a lesson in stakeholder engagement and legacy management. Preserving such authentic narratives requires clear vision, coordination, and dedicated execution, principles that remain valuable across both publishing and entrepreneurial ventures." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
