Consumer products major Reckitt reported that its India business grew in double digits during the third quarter of CY2026, supported by a broad-based growth momentum across multiple categories. The UK-based multinational consumer products maker operates several prominent brands in the country, including Dettol, Harpic, Finish, Durex, and Lizol.
During its earnings call, the company stated that India maintained strong momentum with double-digit growth and category expansion. According to Reckitt, its ongoing AI-enabled sales transformation continues to enhance market execution. The company also noted that the prior-year period was impacted by GST-related stock depletion, which created a favourable lap expected to unwind in the fourth quarter.
Discussing the performance of emerging markets, Reckitt CEO Kris Licht stated that South Asia and India, ASEAN, and Africa all achieved double-digit growth, while Latin America and China grew at mid-single digits. Licht added that the company is accelerating growth across categories and into new markets to complement the existing strength of its businesses in China and India.
Specific brands contributed significantly to the quarterly performance. Harpic delivered double-digit growth in Q3 CY2026, driven by continued strength across emerging markets, including India. Additionally, the intimate wellness segment registered double-digit growth in the country.
Dettol, the company's largest brand, delivered double-digit growth across emerging markets, supported by product innovation that aided expansion into new segments and markets. As part of this strategy, Reckitt recently launched a washing machine cleaner and Dettol Activ Botany in India, the latter being a plant-derived hygiene and disinfectant range.
Overall, emerging markets currently account for 44 percent of Reckitt’s core revenue, registering a like-for-like net revenue growth of 8 percent during the quarter under review.
"Reckitt's performance in India demonstrates the value of maintaining broad category expansion and adapting to market demands through targeted product innovation. The integration of AI-enabled sales transformation highlights how established consumer brands can improve execution and efficiency. For businesses operating in high-growth emerging markets, balancing a strong legacy portfolio with localized product launches remains a reliable strategy for achieving sustained double-digit growth." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
