Sundram Fasteners Enters Agricultural Sector With V4 Submersible Pumps Pilot

CHENNAI — Sundram Fasteners Ltd (SFL) has announced its entry into the submersible pump segment. The company has developed a new V4 range of 4-inch submersible pumps specifically targeted at agricultural applications as part of a pilot initiative.

The initial market rollout will cover four districts across Tamil Nadu: Tirunelveli, Madurai, Ramanathapuram, and Kanyakumari. According to a company release, Tirunelveli has been identified as the first launch market for the product, slated for August.

SV Mahesh, Executive Director of Sundram Fasteners, spoke on the strategic rationale behind the new product line. He noted that the foray into submersible pumps builds upon the company's existing experience in the water-pump business.

The company stated that the pilot phase is designed to help the organization gather vital operational feedback directly from the field. The phased rollout across the four chosen districts in Tamil Nadu will serve as the testing ground for Sundram Fasteners as it evaluates market response and product performance in the rural agricultural sector.
