Global pharmaceutical major Lupin Ltd announced on Friday the appointment of Brian Savage as President and Chief Legal Officer.
Based in New Jersey, Savage will lead the company's global legal, compliance, and Intellectual Property Management Group (IPMG) functions, according to a company release.
Prior to joining Lupin, Savage worked at Teva Pharmaceuticals. He held several senior leadership roles at the firm starting in 2015, most recently serving as executive vice president and interim global chief legal officer.
Commenting on the appointment, Lupin CEO Vinita Gupta and Managing Director Nilesh Gupta said in the release, "His deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry landscape, extensive legal expertise and proven leadership will be valuable as we continue to strengthen our governance framework, navigate an evolving regulatory environment and advance our long-term growth ambitions."
The leadership addition comes as pharmaceutical companies continue to manage complex global regulatory frameworks and intellectual property portfolios.
"For global pharmaceutical companies operating in regulated markets, strengthening governance and intellectual property management is critical. Bringing in seasoned leadership with extensive industry experience helps organizations effectively navigate complex compliance landscapes and support their long-term strategic growth." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
